The start of a year exploring Europe’s mountains
Crossing from Dover to Calais at the start of a year exploring Europe’s mountains. First stop Chamonix to begin our Tour of Mont Blanc. A 100 mile run in The Alps from France to Italy to Switzerland and back to France.
Hike along the West Highland Way
Glencoe Ski centre to Fort William. A hot day with spectacular views particularly around the Devil’s Staircase and Glen Nevis towards the Mamores.
Training at Ben Lommond
Ben Lommond being just over an hour from Glasgow is our go-to mountain for training. We parked on the shore of Loch Lommond at Rowerdennan, the trail is well established with little need to navigate. Arriving at just after 8.00am I ran it twice before chilling with a picnic by the Loch.

Wild camping the night before a long run in a very peaceful place with clear views. Very, very cold and strong winds, icy underfoot. A fantastic feeling being out in the wild.
Exploring Glencoe
A little visit to Glen Coe. Exploring these mountains is always exciting. Mountains are so special. They are truly magical. Navigating exposed rocks makes for tricky climbing. While at the same time I’m trying to find the right route – all this tests your mental abilities.
